Day twelve
Last night, I tried asking the hotel for some information about this mountain, but all I got was a head shake, so that went well.
First, breakfast. Yesterday, I noticed a school on my wander around town, and I’ve come to learn that with students come breakfast pancakes. There were a couple of stalls across the school, and I queued at the place with the most people. Then, it was time to head to the mountain.
On good luck, I took a taxi to what I thought would be the correct place (there was very little information about this scenic area, and none of the names of the entrances matched any maps of the area).
It turned out to be the right place, and after getting some tickets, I made my way up the mountain.
There was a little park map on the ticket, which was very convenient, and I could plan my route to see as much as possible without back-tracking or walking the same trail twice.
The views from the top were really good, especially for such an unknown place. About halfway, I found a little stall selling silken tofu in sugar water (delicious), some fruit, and a Coke Zero (gotta watch that sugar intake ;)).
The rest of the trail leads to a few other viewpoints and peaks while slowly descending from the mountain.
There was hardly anyone there, I saw maybe six people in total, which was kind of nice during the day, but it also introduced a problem.
There was no Taxi to get me back. I had plenty of time, so I took it slowly and requested a DiDi in the highest-fare class to increase my chances.
At some point, a car came up the mountain to drop something off, and when he returned, we looked at each other, and he stopped about 20 meters away.
I had a pretty good suspicion he was checking the DiDi app to see if I requested a ride, and a few seconds later, I was assigned a car for the way down, which showed 20 meters away.
At the car, we both excitedly (but in our own language) explained what happened, and the mood was set for the way down.
After a shower, I went out for dinner. Wonton noodles sounded like a good choice!
Then, it was time to take a Taxi to the train station and head to the next destination. The town of Wuyishan.

(I almost booked the flight from Yiwu to Wuyi the wrong way around because the names are so similar).
A little while and another 40-minute taxi ride later, I was at my next hotel. It was a small boutique hotel, and during a tea ceremony, the owner and I built an itinerary for the scenic area visit tomorrow.
The hotel was really nice; fresh fruit and snacks were everywhere, and everything was taken care of.
