Day nine
When I went to bed last night, my left ankle was about double the size of the right one and was hurting quite severely.
Luckily, after a night of sleep, it was almost back to normal, and I could walk without much issue.
Originally, I was supposed to do the hike today, but there was an approaching Typhoon, and it would rain today and tomorrow, so I swapped the days around.
Having visited the ones in Singapore, Shanghai, and Tokyo, I headed to Fukuoka’s Teamlab exhibition to kill some time today.
Even though it was raining, it was not that busy, and it was quite fun to look at pretty interactive animations.
After lunch, I headed to an art museum, where I spent a couple of hours touring various exhibitions.
One of them was for a photography class where visitors could rate the students. There were some great photos in there!
Across from the museum was a Shotengai (covered shopping alley), and it would lead me to an area near some temples.
It was almost five (when most temples close), but I managed to visit one and just sit there and enjoy the surroundings and rain.
To end the day, I headed to the Canal shopping center (also covered) and got some delicious Takoyaki to end the day before walking back to the hotel.
I was still a bit hungry and found a noodle place that was supposed to be super good. When entering, I could smell the pungent stench of pork, and that’s when I should have just turned around and walked away.
But I didn’t, and now I was stuck with a huge bowl of pork noodles that tasted horrible. At some point, I couldn’t take the smell (or taste) anymore, and for the first time in Japan, I left without finishing the meal.
