Day five
This morning, I took the Shinkansen train to Kurashiki, a town further along the coast towards Fukuoka.

It’s well known in Japan for its canal, which was a nice place to hang out and explore the neighborhood.
When walking around, I noticed a queue outside a shop, and because I had nothing better to do, I joined said queue and ended up with these delicious baked Tonkatsu (insead of deep-fried).
Since it was a weekday, it wasn’t crowded, and exploring took less time than expected.
I wanted to visit another town the day after but decided to move it up and took the train to Onomichi.
It’s a small town on the coast of the inland sea.
I noticed a temple on the mountain and decided to check it out.
It was a nice walk in little back alleys with lots of cats.
The view was quite nice, especially at sunset.
When it was dark, I made my way down the mountainside and looked for food at the seaside arcade.
I found a delicious noodle place that was barely large enough to hold 6 seats at a bar and ordered Hakata noodles.
It was then time to take the hour-long train back to Kurashiki.
